Preparation for Day 3 - Open Minds City Hall School                                                                                                    Dear Parents and Students, The first couple days have been filled with fun, excitement and one of a kind learning. Some highlights have been meeting Mayor Gondek, watching a live council meeting, the +15 Art Commons, the Famous Five Statue, Calgary Olympic Park, Devonian Gardens, City Hall Atrium and time learning in the Classroom. Students have been engaging in lots of Journalling, including adding pictures and reflections of their favorite moments. WOW! Lots of learning in just two days! I am thinking everyone should sleep well tonight, because I know I will be! Tomorrow we will be learning for the most part, outside. It will be extremely important that students come prepared for not only tomorrow but also for Thursday, with proper jackets, toques/ear coverings and footwear. I am sad to say that there are some students who continue

Field Trip Forms & Pajama Day

You should have received field trip forms via School Messenger (through the office). If you are not able to print your own forms, let me know and I will send home a paper copy. You can fill them out online and then e-mail them to me as well.  Tomorrow, Friday, November 17th is Pajama Day, only in Mrs. MacQueen & Mrs. Barr's class (not a whole school event). Students earned a reward. They can wear pajamas and bring a small stuffed animal.  Thank you & Have a Great Night!

Remembrance Day & Fall Break

There are no words to express how proud I am of the students and their performance and behaviour at the Remembrance Day Assembly. Preparing for such an assembly is hard work, a lot of practice and a LOT of waiting around being patient! Students were amazing! Their Peace song was truly something to be heard. There is so much talent in grade 5! Field Trips forms will be sent out via e-mail on Wednesday. Please be quick to send back to school or have your child ask for a paper copy if needed. We are unfortunately still waiting on several of your clearances to come through from last Parent/Teacher conferences. I spoke to everyone about the need for volunteers. I have heard back from a couple of you. Please have your child grab a volunteer form from me if you are planning to volunteer. At that time I will check with the office to ensure you are cleared and ready to go!  Thank you so much for your support in all respects! We have had a very good start to the year and believe it or not Winte
