Remembrance Day

 Remembrance Day Assembly

The Grade 5s will be leading the Remembrance Day Assembly coming up tomorrow, November. 8th at 10:30 am. Families are welcome to come but are reminded that this is a somber assembly, so there will not be any clapping/cheering/etc. Students are very proud of the work they have put into this so we would love to see you there. Doors will open at 10:15 am.  

 Veterans Food Bank

The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary is a service provided by CALGARY VETERANS SERVICES SOCIETY, founded in August 2018, to serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and surrounding area. The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary supports veterans who served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces, Reserves and first responders.

Copperfield School will be collecting food donations starting on October 30 through until November 8, 2023. If you can donate food items, it would be greatly appreciated. Items that are urgently needed are canned meats and chili/stew, ground coffee, flour, cereal, Kleenex, pudding cups, canned mushrooms, juice boxes, granola bars, cookies, rice, pancake mix, hamburger helper, plastic wrap, toilet paper, mac and cheese, and spices. Thank you for your support.

Fall Break begins on Thursday this week. There will not be school again until November. 15th.

September 4th, 2023

 I am very excited to welcome back students for a 4-day week of Back To School! I promise we will get up to a full 5-day week! 😁 Our first couple days were full of getting to know you games and setting routines and expectations! We certainly have a lovely class in Room 126!  Please make sure you get all your forms completed and sent in so that we can start taking walks to the local ponds. I would also appreciate parents completing their security clearances and/or ensuring they are up to date as we will require many volunteers for our week at City Hall School, November 27th - December 1st, as well as a field trip tentatively planned for May to the Military Museum.  This week will be filled with many getting to know you activities and pre-assessments. Field Trip Forms & Pajama Day

 You should have received field trip forms via School Messenger (through the office). If you are not able to print your own forms, let me know and I will send home a paper copy. You can fill them out online and then e-mail them to me as well.  Tomorrow, Friday, November 17th is Pajama Day, only in Mrs. MacQueen & Mrs. Barr's class (not a whole school event).
